Dr Stephanie Barnes is a neurologist and neurophysiologist and Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. She has a particular interest in nerve and muscle disorders and headache, including injectable therapies. She has completed subspecialty training in neuromuscular medicine and clinical neurophysiology.

Clinical Neurophysiology (NCS/EMG)
Dr Barnes is a subspecialist in neuromuscular medicine, that is, in the diagnosis and treatment of conditions affecting the nerves and muscles. This includes peripheral neuropathy, carpal tunnel syndrome, muscular dystrophy, myopathy, and myasthenia gravis.
Headache
Dr Barnes has expertise in the assessment and management of headache, including migraine. She attended the International Headache Society Headache Master School in 2018 and is a current council member for the Australian and New Zealand Headache Society. She enjoys working with her patients to establish a personalised treatment plan to manage their headaches as well as teaching neurology trainees about these important conditions.
​Dr Barnes completed subspecialty training in clinical neurophysiology and personally performs complex nerve conduction studies, repetitive stimulation and electromyography (EMG). These tests are used to evaluate symptoms such as weakness, numbness and tingling. This includes the diagnosis of carpal tunnel syndrome.
Injectable therapies
Dr Barnes is trained in injectable therapies for chronic migraines, bruxism (excessive clenching), hemifacial spasm, blepharospasm, dystonia, spasticity and hyperhydrosis (excessive sweating). She is able to perform injections under EMG guidance where required.
